Who was Walt Elias Disney?

We’ve gotta start somewhere in the search of Walt Disney, so why not his start to fame? The first ever animation came from the short film, “Steam Boat Willie.” This short came from a ton of drawings pieced together, kinda like a really really big flip book.

Walter Elias Disney was a huge inspiration to many people with his creation of “Steam Boat Willie,” however that wasn’t his only success as he grew as an entertainer and an artist. Walt would go on to win many awards, especially when his first animated feature film came to theaters, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” although it took everything he was to work his way to the point he was at.

Most of the time when we hear about Walt, we hear about how his success, but what you may have not known is that Walt had four siblings, three brothers and one sister. Being a family of seven, money was tight, so the boys all had to sell newspapers year round to help make money. Elias Disney, Walt’s father, was strict with his boys, as most fathers in this day were. So needless to say, he wasn’t supportive of Walt’s artistic hobbies growing up.

As Walt became a man, he found that he could not live without art, he went on to have gotten some of the greatest accomplishments an animator could get. He won 23 Oscars for films such as, “Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Bloom,” “The Living Desert,” and “The Alaskan Eskimo.” He was also a nominee for 28 other Oscars as well.

Many people believe that Walt was a great man and many wonder if he was ever frozen so that he might be able to come back one day. There are many theories that tell us that Walt was frozen, some say that it was just his head!
